The first song that ever played during Encore's gambling was 'Luck Be a Lady Tonight', sung by Frank Sinatra. Due to the 2008 Economic Downtown, the grand opening of the Encore was much less exciting than the Wynn's. During the opening, almost all of it's slots were occupied and the bars and restaurants were all full. The Encore officially opened on December 22, 2008. The Frontier's sign, still standing one year after it's own implosion, was removed in place for part of the hotel. The project was originally named 'The Encore Suites at Wynn Las Vegas'. The Encore is extremely identical to the Wynn, from it's brown stained glass, to the logo's design, to even the casino and rooms.Īfter the major success and and one year anniversary of the Wynn, Steve Wynn decided to build another hotel based off of the other one. Glenn Rieder was contracted to provide their unique architectural woodwork to Encores public areas, the center bar, the casino main floor, and Encores.
The hotel opened in late 2008 and actually has less rooms than the Wynn.
The hotel is owned by Wynn Resorts and is adjacent to it's older property, Wynn Las Vegas. The Encore is a 2,000-room luxury hotel and casino located on on the Strip in Paradise, Nevada. (Redirects to Wynn's website, as the Encore does not have a separate website)
